2008 ANTIBIOTIC PROPHYLAXIS GUIDELINES*

Review the most recent American Heart Association regimen recommending antibiotic prophylaxis to
prevent bacterial endocarditis and the cardiac conditions recommended for prophylaxis along with the
updated American Dental Association/AAOS joint policy regarding antibiotic prophylaxis to prevent
infection following a total joint replacement. Join in the class to glean clarifications of the new antibiotic
prophylactic recommendations. (3 CEUs)
