Honoring the Retirement of
Mary Alice Gaston
Please join in honoring Mary Alice
Gaston, RDH, MS, on the occasion of her retirement, for her Outstanding service
to The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the profession of
Dental Hygiene. Mary Alice retired from the University on June 30, 2003.
Mary Alice Gaston has served as an Associate Dean of the College of Allied
Health Sciences for the last 5 years and as a professor in the Department of
Dental Hygiene for 25 years. She has provided leadership and mentoring through
her involvement with education, ADHA, TDHA, and continues to contribute her
talents as Editor of the Journal of Dental Hygiene.
Many have asked how to best honor her for her dedication to the profession of
Dental Hygiene, the College, and The University of Tennessee. Anyone wishing to
recognize her may make a donation to an area of personal importance to her.
The Mary Alice Gaston Dental Hygiene Endowment Scholarship Fund was
established in 1996 to honor her commitment to the profession and her desire to
educate future dental hygienists. This fund reached the endowment level in 2001
and has been used to award at least two scholarships per year to deserving
students.
Please use this scholarship fund to show your support for Mary Alice and your
gratitude for her many years of excellence! Mary Alice will be notified of your
gift, and you may include a note which will be forwarded. If you prefer to
remain annonymous, please indicate this when you make your gift.
